I think women hate gray hair on men!?

I started to gray at age 24 and am now about half gray at 47. However, I still have a young face so people guess me about 38-40.

I have often heard women say that they think gray hair is sexy and "distinguished".

In reality, I think when they say it looks "distinguished" they are actually saying "you look like my dad".

In the past I have colored my hair (brown) and I have let it go natural (1/2 gray). The difference I get as far as attention from the ladies is quite dramatic.

I look quite like Pierce Brosnan, so when my hair is brown, I get many looks and lots of attention. When my hair is gray, I get no looks and often lose the girl to a younger, dark-haired man by the end of the evening.

Even Clooney doesn't go all gray. He uses lowlights on top to give the natural, darker top, silver sideburns look.

I think that's what I will do. Just gradually add lowlights to the top. I can no longer color all over as it looks fake.

My ex boyfriend started going grey at 18, he was very self conscious about it but I thought he looked really good! However, if you are concerned about it you could try lowlights to add colour to your hair without dying all of it, which as you say can look fake. Alternatively you could see a hairdresser for advice, they will help you decide on what is best for you and your hair.

Philip Schofield the presenter on British tv is completely grey (that's how we spell it over here). He looks better than when he used to dye his hair. Apparently he went grey at a very early age. Perhaps going to a hair stylist might be an option.

Just be yourself sweetie. My Hubby is grey and I absolutely adore him!!! If he dyed his hair, it would look really odd. Women should accept you for you, and you sound a bit of a dish, so why you worrying?

I will be forty seven this coming April. I have some grey hairs, and have had them since I was in my mid-twenties.

I have had almost as many lovers as hairs on my head. I lost count.

My present lover and my life companion knows about this, and she neither holds the grey hairs nor my lovers against me believe it or not.

In my mother's and father's cultures of the Old World Irish, Basque, and Jewish, I think grey hair is not a thing to be ashamed of. I think this is something that the beauty industry and culture of youth and hedonism/narcissism/materialism has instilled in many of us.

Let that trouble go, and be proud of your grey hairs for they symbolize your having survived worry, anxiety, stress, danger, and other bad experiences and "stuff."

I get my self esteem and respect from other sources than the colour of my hair, or even how much hair I have on my middle aged noggin. (lol)

In reality, some girls will, some will not be attracted or repelled by grey hair. However, I think they way you talk and behave will be a bigger influence on their response.

Do what will make you happy. If you are worried that women are paying only attention to your hair then you are worried about the wrong thing... Any person that decides that you are undateable because of your hair is too fickle and should not be considered as a love interest anyway. I say, let your hair do what it naturaly wants to do. My husband started balding at 20 and now at 28 he is pretty bald... I love him anyway. This is the way it should be. Good Luck and Happy New Year!

Grey hair is a fact of life for EVERYONE.

But, honestly, I like it when an older guy has grey hair, and if they have a young face and everything, it adds an allure to them as well.

I'm only a teenager, but that's my opinion.

And when a younger girl goes with a younger guy, it's pretty natural if they prefer young guys to older ones.

Also, relax.

This guy I know started graying when he was around 12-ish, and now he's 15 with more gray hairs, so graying at 24 is fine.

My opionion, I am a hair dresser and I love grey hair on men. The guy off american idol was hot, I was upset when they were trying to get him to color his hair. Anyways, I have a lot of grey haired customers, and all of them are hot in there own way, I like men being them self, and distinguished looks simply means you are hot in your own way, thats not a bad thing, I prefer a grey haired man it means they need a lot of love-ins. I am 26 and I only date men that look older and mature. I love grey hair.

When I say that older men with grey hair look "distinguished" I mean they look sexy! Honest to goodness. I wouldn't lie about something like that. I think you should keep your grey hair, but if you really don't like it go to a professional and have them fix your hair for you. They can make it look 100% natural. If it makes you feel any better I'm only 20 and I'm getting grey hair, lol. Call me weird, but I like it though, lol.

i really do like grey hair. the last guy i dated was in his 40s and had grey hair..yes its makes a male look distinguished....i love to play with it and watch the silver strands tickle through my fingers its nice and relaxing..... very sexy

Grey hair on men can sometimes look OK, but then again if they try and cover it up by dying it they make them selfs look more of a gay boy !!

If there is a woman who does not want to look or speak with you because you are grey, I really do not believe she is worth your attention and time. The question should not whether women hate grey hair or men, but why are people so shallow. Believe or not, there some women who think men will not find them attractive if they let their hair go grey. My advice you should find a woman who is grey and she will not care if you are as well. More than likely, she may some things in common with you.
